Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson told the former Manchester United striker to “improve” if he wanted to return to the same level as Argentine Lionel Messi, Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian Neymar.
Johnson also urged Chelsea to sign Ronaldo to a six-month contract when the January transfer window begins.
Ronaldo is currently a free agent after his contract with Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent last month.
“I would have accepted Cristiano Ronaldo at Chelsea for six months, for sure.” Johnson told Midnite.
“Ronaldo was the second or third best player we’ve seen in our generation.
“If Ronaldo wants to get back to the same rank as Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi or Neymar, he needs to improve.”
