Belgium’s captain, Eden Hazard, named Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme as the best number 10 he had seen play in the match.
Hazard said Riquelme, who is considered one of the greatest Argentine footballers of all time, is his football idol, hoping to meet him one day.
The Real Madrid star was speaking after Belgium beat Canada in the World Cup 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Remember, Belgium beat Canada in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup thanks to Michy Batshuayi’s first-half goal.
“He’s an idol, the best number 10 I’ve ever seen him play.
“I haven’t met him and I hope one day that will happen. Players like Riquelme can play football today,” Hazard, the former Chelsea player, told Diario Ole.
