President Muhammadu Buhari reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the police and military.
Buhari spoke on Thursday in Abuja where he received the audited 2021 report and proposed 2023 budget from the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The Nigerian leader noted that his administration has made the welfare of police officers a priority, and reforms a sacred duty.
Buhari said that when the personnel are deployed on assignments or missions and know that their families are living well, morale will be high.
“I am fully aware of the problems and challenges facing the Nigerian Police Force and Armed Forces.
“The problem is about time and resources, and this administration has done a lot under constraints,” he said.
The president complained about low crude oil prices as well as domestic production.
But Buhari stressed that the government will continue to do its best despite the decline in revenues.
