The head of the Popular Redemption Party for Taraba State, Abdullahi Maikaswa, denied allegations of corruption leveled at him by some of the affected party members.
Despite the allegations, Maikasawa expressed his determination to continue to preside over the party’s affairs as president.
On his alleged suspension, after numerous allegations, including allegations of corruption and anti-party activities, he said that those behind these acts, have no constitutional authority to implement such powers, and insisted that due legal procedures were not followed.”
The beleaguered president who made the announcement on Tuesday while presenting a certificate of return to candidates vying for various elective positions in Jalingo on the platform of the People’s Progressive Party, said those seeking his head had no real reasons.
He said that only those trying to paint his good name in black are trying to destroy the party’s super-waves created for a possible victory in the next election.
He alleged that those behind the allegation were sponsored by both the state’s ruling People’s Democratic Party and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He said that the sponsors of the attack on his person are threatened, after they saw that the waves of victory were in favor of the People’s Democratic Party in Taraba.
Emphasizing that I want to make it clear to you that I am not under arrest, and I do not have elements of corruption in me, and I have never shown any act of corruption or any act contrary to the provisions of our party’s constitution. “
“Our party’s national secretariat is headed by people of integrity who do not accept any corrupt practice from anyone.” Those behind “false allegations against me are sponsored by both the PDP and APC to destroy the superwaves created by our party for possible victory.”
He said, “Both the HDP and the APC feel threatened by the kind of support we are getting the day before the elections, and they have succeeded in getting some of our members in to destroy our waves before the elections.”
He urged the affected party members to sheathe their swords by joining hands with him to push the party to the top, and said that such a call, if adhered to, will push the party to victory after the elections.
