Israel Adesanya considered losing his UFC 281 belt to Alex Pereira on Sunday morning.
The Nigerian-born fighter suffered a massive technical knockout loss in the fifth round to Pereira inside Madison Square Garden.
“I’ve been doing this, this is my third fight in 10 months.
“Every time I fight, I risk losing what you guys consider to be the most prestigious belt—and it is—and all that,” Adesanya said.
He also highlighted how things started to go wrong in the fifth round.
It was a calf kick that left his leg dead.
“I hit my fibular nerve, which is why my foot was compromised.
“Even when I stumbled and came back, I had to do my plump urine workout. Because I was like, ‘Oh, I just tripped, he’s not like me.'”
“So, kudos to him for investing in these little kicks because it cost me,” Adesanya added.
He also confirmed that “I will be back, it is not over yet”, indicating that he will play the rematch against Pereira.
