The Kaduna State government on Wednesday confirmed that the feared gang leader, Kachala Godau, was among those who were neutralized by the troops.
This was confirmed by Samuel Arwan, Commissioner of the Department of Homeland Security and Home Affairs of Kaduna State, who confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Kachala Godau was a bandit leader who commanded a large number of foot soldiers, kidnapping and killing many innocent people in the local government areas of Chikun, Kashiya and Kaguro.
The statement said Kachala Godau was among those thieves who were neutralized by Nigerian army forces on Sunday in Kankomi, Kaduna state.
Aruan also explained that he had received a reliable intelligent report that what was left of Judao who was killed in Kankomi Forest was retrieved by a large number of bandits under him, and buried at a site around Kaku Forest located in Kasu General District of Chikun LGA. .
He also confirms the killing of another major bandit leader popularly known as “Rigimami”, who is said to be one of Judau’s trusted lieutenants.
“Judao played leading roles in the joint kidnappings of students and expatriates in Kaguro, Chikun and Kachia assemblies, along with the killing of kidnapped citizens and victims who resisted the kidnapping,” he said.
He also declared that Judau was engaged in coordinated attacks on herdsmen’s settlements and cattle theft, which caused him to own large herds of cattle which he sold making millions of naira.
“The peak of the cattle theft spree came in the first and second quarters of 2022, in Kajuru LGA alone, Gudau and his partners abducted 1,600 and 332 cattle respectively, a total of 4,932 cows stolen in the first six months of 2022,” the statement further added.
