Kanu Gober: The National Party demands the arrest of the Speaker of Parliament, say the policemen protecting the thugs

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has threatened to boycott the 2023 Kano State gubernatorial elections.

The candidate, Aba Kabir Yusuf, spoke on Monday via a statement by Sanusi Bator’s spokesperson.

Youssef called for the arrest and trial of the head of the All Progressives Conference, Abdullah Abbas, for “incitement to political violence.”

He accused Abbas of “overtly aiding and actively supporting attacks on NDP supporters and campaign property”.

Yusuf alleged that Abbas directed his son, Sani, and close aide Gnaidu Abdul Hamid, to attack the National Party’s office in the Shiranchi neighbourhoods.

The flag bearer said the duo, accompanied by more than 50 miscreants, infected supporters in the area on November 12.

Yusuf told the authorities that a police officer from Ghawali district had allegedly provided cover for the “evil deed”.

He noted that despite the efforts of the new commissioner to confront the bullying, his officers in Gwali and Mandawari were protecting the APC thugs.

The NNPP said the people had refused to consider any of the complaints submitted by its members and followers.

The statement expressed regret that the fire in Youssef’s house in 2019 had not been investigated by the police command after three years.

“The chairman of APC is known for his hate speeches. He has a reputation for causing crises.

“There are numerous audio and video clips on social media platforms that provide clear evidence of these assertions,” the statement read.

Youssef assigned the security services to start an investigation with Abbas and the Border Guard Command in Kano.

Today, Monday, the candidate of the Democratic Action Party, Shaban Ibrahim Sharada, called for the arrest of Abbas.
