Kwankwaso reveals his fears of the 2023 presidential elections

New Nigerian People’s Party presidential candidate Rabio Kwankwaso said the only fear he has about the upcoming presidential election is more from the Independent and National Electoral Commission, the Independent National Electoral Commission, and other stakeholders in the presidential villa.

Kwankwaso also said that he believes this year’s elections will be different from the previous ones.

He revealed this on Wednesday while answering questions during an appearance at Chatham House in London.

The former Kano state governor lamented that corrupt politicians with deep pockets had used poverty as a weapon to perpetuate themselves in office.

He said, “This year’s election will be different in the sense that everyone is suffering. Everyone has seen the consequences of raising money to vote for a certain candidate on the one hand. On the other hand, these people with deep pockets have made people so poor that good food is enough to make poor people crazy.”

“So I think the people, the masses from Nigeria, are very committed. Our fear now is more of the IEC and the NEC, the INC, and other stakeholders because we have seen what happened in the past. Most of these issues revolve around ‘the villa’ and the president, not necessarily This President, who before him was inclusive. As long as the leadership in Abuja will convince itself to let the people go and vote, I have no doubt that we will have free, fair and credible elections.

And as for me, I saw no reason why President Buhari should not allow that to happen; most likely, it is the only or little legacy he will leave behind. He was the biggest beneficiary when we were in opposition promoting him, and many things happened, and he became president despite the fact that he He had serious problems with the stakeholders in holding the elections. So we think this election will be different.”
