Kwara: Governor Abdul Razzaq signs the 2023 budget

On Tuesday, Governor of Kwara State Abdul Rahman Abdul Razak signed the 2023 budget into law.

The budget consists of a capital component of NIS 94,855,769,496.00 representing 50.2 percent and recurrent expenses of NIS 77,626,089,869.00 representing 49.8 percent, according to a statement from the press secretary of the governor, Raviu Ajakai in Ilorin.

He said that the financial document provides funding for the completion of some ongoing projects and the continuation of many influential management programs.

The size of the budget is N188,845,603,561.00 N, which is a few million less than the N189,436,248,054.00 N proposed by the Governor in his Budget Presentation Letter on November 30, 2022.

Governor Abdul Razzaq praised the House of Representatives for their cooperation with the executive authority, explaining that such harmonious relations help deepen the delivery of democratic gains to the people.

Speaker of the State House of Representatives M. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, said that Parliament had properly examined the budget and found it very important for the continuous development of the state, especially the completion of the ongoing projects.

The Daily Mail reported that the signing of the budget approved by the State House of Representatives on Tuesday was witnessed by some members of the House of Representatives and the Cabinet.
