The Rivers State Labor Party debunked news circulating on social media that the party had changed its gubernatorial candidate.
LP chairwoman Denie Pepil said the stories on social media are misleading, explaining that comrade Beatrice Itobo remains the party’s sole ruling candidate.
According to him, “We are preparing for the governor’s elections on March 11.
“And to set things right, our Rivers candidate for Labor, Dame Beatrice Itobo, remains behind and we are fully behind her.”
Therefore, Pebel, in a conversation with journalists in Port Harcourt, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to do what was necessary, as they pledged not to take for granted what happened in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
