Labor Party candidate in Kaduna, Asake neglect of women

The Labor Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State in the 2023 elections, Jonathan Asaki, has promised to give women their rightful place in his government if they vote in power.

Speaking on Friday in Kaduna when he answered an invitation from the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) Political Committee to present his plan for the state, he indicated that women will play a key role in his plan to restore the lost glory of the state. .

In a statement issued by his media assistant James Soam and made available to the DAILY POST, Asake said, “They (women) make up a larger part of society and make up a large portion of the electorate in the state and country.”

The gubernatorial candidate also assured that his government will provide access to financial support for women to empower them in areas of acquiring skills for self-empowerment and enhancing their living standards.

According to Asake, “Women are known to be good administrators and financial managers, the late Dora Akunyili is one of the role models who sterilized the pharmaceutical market in Nigeria and was left without blemishes.”

The gubernatorial candidate lamented conditions for workers in the state, saying his administration would prioritize training and retraining rather than arbitrary dismissal of the workforce without gratuity payment as practiced by the APC administration in the past seven years.

He stated that the LP management will deal with the issue of people with disabilities (PWD) very seriously, assuring that they will be provided with all the necessary paths to show their potential as partners in the growth of the state.

As governor, “I will critically engage stakeholders to understand the needs of people with disabilities to chart strategies to support them to work and live happily in the community.”

Asaki said he is concerned that many boarding schools on the city’s outskirts remain closed due to insecurity, saying his government will spare no effort in ensuring these are opened and protected so that learning can continue.
