Lagos: Otome asks INEC to investigate ‘PVC hoarding’, condemns attacks on LP supporters.

Professor Pat Otome has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate allegations of hoarding of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Lagos State.

Peter Obi Yusuf Dati’s Big Tents Campaign Coalition organizer made the call on Monday in Lagos.

The political economist urged the committee not to allow any conspiracy to disenfranchise voters.

He said: “The National Elections Commission must consider this alleged violation as a violation of election law and deal with it recklessly.”

The former presidential candidate has complained that his campaign materials have been destroyed.

He condemned the tearing down of posters and the beating of citizens wearing third party jackets in Lagos.

Otome called these actions “uncivilized” and “inappropriate for people who have claimed to be progressive and enlightened”.

“The use of boys in the area to intimidate voters is said to have reached the proportions of transferring some people to the International Criminal Court.”

The professor added that the new modern Lagos “should be an arena of democratic freedom”.
