Transport Minister Moaz Sambo expressed his sorrow over the train accident that took place on Thursday in Lagos state.
This came in a statement made by Hencho Ogobek, Director of Press and Public Relations of the ministry in Abuja.
Sambo also ordered an immediate investigation into the unfortunate incident.
Recall that the accident involved a commuter train and a staff bus of the Lagos State Government which was transporting workers to their offices in Shogunle district of Lagos State.
The minister sympathized with the victims and called for the rest of the souls of the deceased and the speedy recovery of the injured.
He said, “We pray for those who lost their lives that God Almighty grants them eternal rest and a speedy recovery for the injured.”
He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Lagos State over the incident.
