Former England striker Michael Owen paid tribute to Chelsea’s latest recruit, Mykhailo Modric, after Chelsea’s Ukrainian debut against Liverpool on Saturday.
Modric was brought on in the 55th minute to help Graham Potter’s side secure victory at Anfield during a 0-0 draw.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk striker has shown a lot of promise with some good shooting and handling of defences. He also missed an opportunity, putting the ball into the side netting.
Owen said he was excited about the way the 22-year-old started his career at Chelsea, describing it as absolutely fantastic.
Asked if he was excited about the Ukrainian’s performance, the former Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Newcastle United striker in the Premier League told Productions, “Yeah, he brought a bit of life and attacking flair and directness into the Chelsea game.
