Joseph Adewi, a 45-year-old man, has been held in remand in a correctional center by the Magistrates Court sitting in Odigbo Local Government Area, Ondo State due to an alleged fire.
With the accused being tried in court on charges of conspiracy and arson, Adeoye allegedly committed the crime in September 2022, in the village of Alagbado, in the Ore axis.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Osivo James, the defendant and seven other people still at large planned to set fire to a church and other building of 10 meters.
The offense is in violation of Sections 516 and 443 of the Ondo State Criminal Procedure Act 2006, Chapter 37, Volume 1.
In response to the charge against him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
However, Yosefou requested legal counsel from the Public Prosecution Department, the Director of Public Prosecutions, while the defense counsel, Mr. D.E. Irene, did not oppose the request.
In his ruling, the Chief Justice, Dr. Ogunvoye, deposited the accused in the Correctional Facility in Okitipupa pending the outcome of legal advice, after which he adjourned the case until December 9 for mention.
