Massari signs Katsina’s 2023 budget into law

Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Wednesday signed the Katsina State Allocation Bill 2023 into law.

Speaking at the event, Al-Masari indicated that the signing of the law, which is the last for his administration, will only be implemented by his administration for the next five months only.

He also noted that his administration was able to meet its primary obligation to pay staff salaries, school meals, among other things despite the state’s reliance on federal appropriations, he said they were able to make some meaningful progress in the areas of infrastructure in the state.

Earlier, prior to introducing the governor’s ascension bill, Tassio had informed members of the public present at the venue of the following:

“As a result of this adjustment, the total budget has increased from 288,633,257,963.00 as originally submitted to 257,693,288,693N.

This means that the capital estimate now stands at N183, 924, 845, 400 which still maintains 63.5 per cent of the total budget.

“Similarly, the recurring estimate is now 105,789,412,562 nautical which is 36.4 percent of the total budget,” Tasio said.
