Messi joins the rivals of victory and overtakes Ronaldo as the highest-paid player

It is believed that Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge, is in Riyadh for talks with Al-Hilal regarding the possibility of the player joining the Saudi club.

The deal will see Messi earning £245m a year.

The 35-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June, and Al-Hilal is keen to transfer him to the Middle East.

They would be willing to shell out $300m a year (£245m) to get a deal through the line, according to Mundo Deportivo.

If it becomes a reality, the move could see Messi renew his rivalry on the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nasr club last month and will receive 175 million pounds sterling.

Should Messi accept Al Hilal’s offer, he will earn much more than Ronaldo and have the chance to play against his great rival once again.
