The England international was taking part in SuperSport’s TikTok challenge when the question popped up about who’s the greatest.
The Mablethorpe City man was asked which of the footballing princes he preferred and he chose ‘Messi’.
Messi led Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar in December, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists in seven matches.
The 35-year-old Messi also won the Ballon d’Or for his performances in the Middle East.
He has 13 goals and provided 14 assists in 21 matches across competitions for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
