On Monday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said its agents have arrested one of the brothers, Onigalachi Stephen, who the DEA believes are major sources of illegal drug supplies in the Southeast and South-South regions. from the country.
The agency said the suspects were tracked for nine years before the long hand of the law caught up with him.
However, Onigalashi’s elder brother, Izzy Stephen, who is also wanted, narrowly escaped during the night operation which was carried out simultaneously at two locations in Umuahia and Ntigha Okpuola communities in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia State.
Femi Papafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, indicated in a statement that during the raid, quantities of cocaine and various types of hashish were seized from the two homes, adding that the agency closed two hotels, a restaurant and two palaces. linked up with them and recovered three strange cars from their homes, while efforts were underway to trace their bank accounts and possessions.
The statement identified the hotels as Jahlove Hotel, Mbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Noicyhl Luxury Hotel, Aba-Port-Harcourt Expressway, Aba, Royal Cruise Fast Food, Enugu- Port Harcourt Expressway and Isiala Ngwa North LGA, all in Abia state.
