New year message: Peter Obi accuses Nigerians of defeating democracy abusers in the 2023 elections
Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi has tasked Nigerians with saving the nation during the 2023 elections.
In his New Year message, Obi announced that 2023 will be a very crucial year that will determine the country’s next direction.
The Labor Party flag bearer demanded the citizens to take back Nigeria “from the cold hands of corruption, insecurity and unproductivity”.
Obi said the nation could not continue its downward spiral in the coming years.
The former Anambra governor warned that the current situation could lead to a complete collapse.
In 2023, he said, people must “unite against the continued abuse of our democracy and our economy.”
“The power is in our hands to take back our nation, in 2023, and make it work,” he said while reaffirming his commitment to security, unification and moving Nigeria from consumption to production.
The candidate of the Liberal Party also promised to fulfill the agreement he made with the voters.
“Nigerians can hold me accountable with words of promise,” the statement added.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo announced his support for the businessman, vice president and politician.
