Two people were reportedly killed in Ward 12, Ubimeni Community, in Rivers State’s Emuhua Local Government Area.
The trouble started when a member of the Onelga Security, Peace and Consultation Committee, a local security group, tried to arrest a young man for unknown reasons, but they were resisted by the people.
It was found that members of the local vigilante group started shooting erratically, killing a woman.
However, one of them was caught when he tried to escape, but was shocked by the people.
Tension in the community led to the end of the elections in Unit 6 and 7 of Ward 12.
Later, the electors congregate again in other polling units to continue the process.
