Niger’s governor, Sani Bello, orders security men to hunt down the killers of the Catholic priest

Niger State Governor Alhaji Sani Bello Abubakar has ordered the security services to hunt down the killers of a Catholic priest of SS Peter and Paul, Rev. Fr. Isaac Ache, at his residence in Kaven Koro, Baikoro Local Government Area.

Bellew, in a statement by Chief Press Secretary, CBS, Mrs. Mary Noel Bergey, described the arson of the parish priest as an evil and inhumane act.

He said that attacking a religious facility to kill anyone is the worst aspect of terrorist attacks.

The governor explained, “This is a sad moment. To kill a priest in this way means that we are not all safe, and these terrorists have lost it. Radical action is needed to end this ongoing massacre.”

He urged the security services to continue developing new strategies that would end brutal and barbaric acts, adding that his government will not rest on its oars to ensure that the perpetrators are prosecuted.

While agreeing with the Christian community, and especially the Catholic Church, about the ugly incident, the governor prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured priest Father, who had been shot by bandits while trying to escape.

He then asked people to remain calm as the government will continue to do its best to secure people’s lives and livelihoods.
