The Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the 20 club owners will meet next week in Abuja to ratify the start date for the 2022/23 Nigerian Professional Football League season.
December 28th has been set as the start date for the new season.
The club’s owners have agreed to a shortened formula, with the campaign expected to end in May 2023.
The 20 teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams in each group meeting in a rotating format to determine the final winner.
Meanwhile, some clubs will be forced to play their home matches on neutral venues after their stadium failed to meet the required standards.
Among the affected clubs are Sunshine Stars, Nasarawa United, Lobi Stars.
