Obi won the presidential election, not Tinubu-Afenifiri

The pan-European socio-political organisation, Afifere revealed on Wednesday that Workers’ Party candidate, LP, Peter Obi is the winner of the just concluded presidential election.

According to the most important Yoruba group, the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as president elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was illegal.

The group confirmed that the presidential and National Assembly elections did not meet the requirements of the 2022 Elections Law and its amendments.

In particular, the organization claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) flagrantly violated the election rules in accordance with the terms of the relevant legislation governing the electoral process in the country.

This came in a statement issued by the organization at the end of a special public meeting held at the Isania-Ogbo headquarters of the party’s leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, who insisted that the election’s conduct had violated both the election law and the constitution.

In a statement signed by General Secretary Sola Ibseni, the group said the willful disregard of the electoral provision of the law encouraged banditry in polling units.

“The results of legal voting in the elections available to Avniferi through reliable sources confirm the victory of His Excellency Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labor Party, in the said elections, and therefore we support his decision to challenge the contrary statement from INEC.

“THE GENERAL MEETING HEREBY CONDEMNS IN STRONG TERMS AND SEPARATES AFENIFERE FOR ANY MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATIONS ON NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION OR IN ANY EVENT TO ANY CANDIDATE AS UNLAWFULLY ANNOUNCED BY THE INECENCE NATIONAL ELECTORAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION.”
