Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State inaugurated a Staff Audit/Appointments/Promotion Review Committee, chaired by Dr. Moyiwa Olademeji; the Committee for the Inventory and Recovery of State Assets, chaired by P.T. Salam; Contracts/MOUs/Agreements Review Committee, chaired by Mr. Niyi Ulad; and the Committee to Review the Affairs of Tribal Chiefs.
He tasked them with keeping track of all looted public assets belonging to the state.
This was stated in a statement issued by Adelec’s spokesperson, Malam Olawal Rasheed, on Wednesday.
The governor gave the impeachment after the inauguration of four commissions in Osogbo to review all appointments made by the previous administration after 17 July.
Adeleke, represented by the Lieutenant-Governor, Mr Kola Adewusi, decried the widespread “looting” of government assets.
You must right wrongs and implement your mandates with a sense of urgency.
“We assure people that we will not back down from our resolve to stop all illegal infractions after July 17,” he said, stressing that government payrolls before July 17 remain intact.
Adeleke said the state government has not fired any workers from Osun’s payroll.
“Those who have problems explaining are those who entered the payroll after July 17,” he said.
