The Workers’ Party (PWP) expressed its pleasure at the turnout of the party’s supporters to the presidential campaign rally held in Ibadan, capital of Oyo state, on Wednesday.
The Daily Post earlier reported that thousands of supporters of Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi invaded the Ibadan campaign rally to drum up support for former Anambra governor and running mate, Dati Baba Ahmed.
In response to the massive crowd at the event, Labor claimed, in a tweet on its official handle, that such a crowd had never been seen before.
The tweet reads, “NgLabour never seen before, PeterObi welcomes Ibadan.
“NgLabour shocked APC in South West today for their foundation. A new Nigeria is possible. Voice of Labor. #PeterObiForPresident2023.”
The Post daily reported that Oyo state governor, Siye Makindi, is one of the affected governors of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP who have pledged not to work with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Although the country is still very much the People’s Democratic Party, the governor, who believes the southern part of the country should field the next president, has yet to announce his support for any of the presidential candidates.
