PDP lists the reasons for the loss of the APC, Tinubu presidential election

The People’s Democratic Party said on Wednesday that Nigerians will not vote in the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for obvious reasons.

In a press conference, the Secretary for National Publicity, Dipo Olugonagpa, said that the people have endured enough trouble under the current administration.

He accused APC and Tinubu of arrogance and entitlement mentality and of treating Nigerians with contempt by refusing to engage people in interactive sessions, discussions and media interviews.

The spokesman pointed out that such behavior was an indication that the ruling party and its candidate “are unable and have nothing to offer.”

Ologunagba said they would be rejected because of the draconian economic policies that had led to the pump price of fuel rising from N87 per liter under the PDP to around N400 to N500 per liter across the country.

The PDP said a sack of rice that was sold at 7,500 naira in 2015 is now selling for around 50,000 naira. A measure of Garri that sold at N100 is now selling for over N450, while a measure of beans that sells for N250 is now selling for more than N1000.

Nigeria has become the second most corrupt country in West Africa and 154th out of 180 in the Global Corruption Index, the opposition said, with APC leaders allegedly “stealing more than N15trillion in oil revenue earmarked for infrastructure development”.

In terms of security, Olugonagpa lamented the country’s ranking as one of the most dangerous places to live in the world.

Nigeria ranked fourth in the Global Terrorism Index report, and the third country with the highest level of terrorism after Iran and Afghanistan.

The PDP said more than 55,430 Nigerians were killed by terrorists and criminal gangs between 2015 and 2022, according to official reports.

Olugonagba asked Nigerians to take their hardships over the years into consideration as they went to the polls on Saturday.

The official warned that any vote in favor of the GPC would be an endorsement of corruption, incompetence, lack of sensitivity, lack of leadership and arrogance in failure.

“Voting for the GPC will be support for insecurity and acts of terrorism. Mass killings, poverty, hardship, stagnant infrastructure and a bleak future.”
