The top Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has listed sanctions to be imposed on the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, for his recent attack on Workers’ Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Ohanaise Secretary-General Okechokwu Isiguzuru said Ndegbo would ensure that Solodo would not receive a second term as governor.
Speaking to the Daily Post, Isiguzuru said the authority would support any move by the Anambra State Assembly to remove Solodo from office in the near future.
Isiguzuru warned that the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will face great challenges as the people of the state will rise up against him.
According to Ohanaeze’s writer, the Southeast will see Soludo as the enemy that has worked against their 2023 presidential chances.
He said, “For Soludo to come out for insulting Nigeria’s candidate, he may not return to office because Ndigbo will punish him by making him a one-term governor. Soludo may face a huge political challenge in Anambra State because the masses will rise up against him.”
“Southeasters will now view him as both an enemy and a major political underwriter of the opportunities for the Southeast to emerge in 2023.
“There must be political ramifications and one of them is that Ndigbo will task the Anambra State House of Representatives to do the needful.
“Ndegbo will look away to remove all those corrupt whites who have pawned our political interest, those who have portrayed us in such a bad light that we are not united.
“For him to show and prove that he is on record to come and thwart being the governor of two presidential candidates, APGA and Labor in 2023, the best person to be appointed as undertaker to bury Peter Obi’s presidency, this is beginning the end of his political stay as Governor of Anambra State.
In the near future, Igbos will encourage anything that gets the Anambra House of Assembly to get Soludo out of the way.
“Ndigbo will rise up in any assembly to challenge Soludo’s views of the great Igbo nation. Soludo’s activities in the last few days have been an insult and slap to the Igbo nation, and Ndigbo will return to such with a very heavy punishment. Soludo’s political residency as Governor of Anambra State has come to an end.”
The former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, CBN, has said that Obi will never win the 2023 presidential election.
Soludo based his claim on the series of attacks on him downplaying allegations of investment by Obi during his term as governor.
