Police arrest fake doctor who defrauded and carried four people in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has reviewed 24-year-old Clement Joseph, from Koropka, Chanchaga, a suburb of Mina, the state capital, for allegedly presenting himself as a doctor and vaccinating four females in the state.

Joseph was arrested on Saturday 6 November 2022 on the basis of a police report.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Police, PPRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, announced this in Mina.
He said the suspect was arrested for three offenses including false identity, fraud and causing an abortion.

He explained that apart from impersonation, he deceived collecting money from an unsuspecting person from the public amounting to 280,000 naira under false pretense of fake online business called ZUGA COINS INT’L business.

He said, “The suspect was arrested on charges of pretending to be a doctor after he posed as a doctor and deceptively collected sum of money from an unsuspecting person of the public amounting to two hundred and eighty thousand naira under false pretense. An online business called ZUGA COINS INT’L business.”

Abiodun explained that upon further questioning, the suspect admitted that he had illicit sexual acquaintance with four other victims and became pregnant with one of them.

According to him, “the suspect conspired with Aliu, who is now at large, and aborted the pregnancy of another victim.”

The case is currently under investigation.
