Police confirm the arrest and detention of the alleged killer of a 22-year-old woman in Bayelsa

Bayelsa State Police Command authorities have confirmed the arrest and detention of a man who allegedly killed her 22-year-old lover.

According to police spokesman Asinem Butswat, who confirmed the incident, the suspect has been arrested and detained at the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

The suspected killer, who was simply identified as Aripamwe Koru, from the Ogobere community in the state’s Sagbama Local Government Area, was reported to have beaten his 22-year-old girlfriend, Miss Toma Servullah Angulo, to death in their apartment on Tuesday.

The Daily Mail gathered that there was pandemonium in the community when the sister of the deceased noticed her sister’s death and raised alarm while holding the perpetrator so that he would not escape.

We also learn that the two lovers were said to coexist in the man’s society before the tragic accident.

Community residents also told the DAILY POST, the two lovers stayed together without any noticeable altercation between them, before the small spat on Tuesday that led to a fight.

According to them, the man may have heated her in a dangerous part of her body that led to bleeding before the girl died.

“They also said that it was with the help of the elder sister of the deceased who managed to apprehend the perpetrator before alerting the police in Amasoma Division to arrest him,” he said.

The deceased father, Mr. Servigud Angulo, had rushed her to the Federal Medical Center in Yenagua, but she gave up the ghost before they could reach the hospital.
