Elements of the Bayelsa State Police Command’s anti-kidnapping unit said they have arrested a notorious armed robbery suspect posing as an army officer.
A statement issued to the DAILY POST, on Thursday, by State Police Public Relations Officer, S.P. Asinem Botswat, “Suspect Kaizer Freeman was arrested following a complaint from the victim who had her mobile phone taken away at gunpoint in Agudama, Yanagua, on January 17, 2023 at approximately 1745 hours.”
Upon searching the suspect’s home, police found a dummy handgun, a gun holster, restraints, and Navy, Army, and Air Force face coverings.
The suspect confessed to committing the crime and investigation is underway to recover the phone. The suspect will be charged in court after investigation.
Police have arrested an armed robber who is suspected of impersonating an army officer
