Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awonyi will spend around two months on the sidelines with a thigh injury.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined since picking up the injury in Forest’s 1-0 win away to Southampton at St Mary’s on January 4.
Awni scored the decisive goal in the match and was substituted 20 minutes before the end of the match after he felt pain in his thigh.
According to Mercato journalist, the Nigerian international will be out for two months.
Awnyi is currently the team’s top scorer with four goals from 16 league matches.
Steve Cooper’s side are looking to bring in Chris Wood on loan from Newcastle United to bolster their attack in his absence.
