Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has advised Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and Arsenal’s Matt Turner to leave their club this summer.
Pulisic, who was bought by Chelsea as a replacement for Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge, is unimpressed following his £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
Turner, on the other hand, has made just six appearances for Arsenal – all in cup competitions – since joining Arsenal from MLS side New England Revolution last year.
“It comes down to the fact that there are a lot of players at Chelsea. Look who he’s up against,” Friedel said of Pulisic’s future in an interview with Sporting Post.
“I’ve never spoken to him before, so I don’t know what he wants, whether he wants to stay and fight for his place or if he wants a new challenge.
“It’s going to be one of those summers where he’s told he’s in Chelsea’s plans and they’re offering him a new deal, or he’s sold.
“Looking at things, I think it’s probably the last and we’ll see him elsewhere, which might be good for him to play consistently.”
Friedel added: “I think he’s dead [Turner]No matter what, though Arsenal are a great club, they have got to find consistent football somewhere. This season, he’s good, but if he’s not number one, he has to go.”
