Premier League: Chelsea’s players had the worst pre-season under Tuchel-Potter
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has revealed that some members of the squad claimed they had their “worst pre-season” under Thomas Tuchel last summer.
Potter is under pressure at Stamford Bridge after the Blues have managed just one win in their last 10 matches.
Chelsea are currently 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
They also trail Borussia Dortmund 1-0 from the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
But Potter believes there were already problems before he replaced Tuchel in September.
“It’s really hard, I think my quote is, it’s the hardest job in football, that was a few weeks ago.
“There are a lot of factors for that. Again, if you take the season, which is a sub-optimal pre-season, talk to a couple of experienced players. [who] “I think this was the worst pre-season they’ve had for various reasons, and that can’t be blamed on anyone, for various reasons that happened,” Potter told reporters on Friday.
