West Ham midfielder Declan Rice would prefer to move to Arsenal before Chelsea, according to the British newspaper The Guardian.
The Blues have been eyeing the England international for a long time.
However, they now face competition from Arsenal, who have made Mikel Arteta Rice one of his main targets ahead of the summer.
West Ham are expected to sell Rice at the end of the season with the 24-year-old keen on playing in the Champions League.
Chelsea was the favorite to sign Rice, but he is more “inclined” towards moving to the Emirates due to the prospect of playing under Mikel Arteta.
Arteta is said to be a “huge fan” of the player and has already made plans on where the midfielder will fit into his Arsenal system.
It is also understood that Rice also believes Arteta can help improve his game.
