New Liverpool signing Cody Jaco has revealed he was close to joining Premier League clubs Manchester United and Leeds United ahead of his move to Anfield.
Gakpo recently joined Liverpool from PSG Eindhoven in a deal worth around £35m.
Speaking to The Mirror, the Netherlands international said: “It was a difficult summer. It was a very intense period.
“I thought I was going to Manchester United, but in the end, it didn’t work out. Leeds United came.
“It’s a good club, but I asked myself if I should really go there and when you have a lot of doubts, it’s not good.”
