Premier League: Graham Potter reveals why Chelsea drew 1-1 with Forest
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has explained why his team could not beat Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.
He went on to say that Chelsea “didn’t deserve” to win the game and slightly blamed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for failing to take advantage of the only chance the Blues had in the second half.
Potter’s side drew 1-1 away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, falling seven points behind the top four.
Raheem Sterling put the Blues ahead in the first half but the physical side of the jungle caused West London problems throughout the second half.
The home side earned a deserved equalizer midway through the second half from Serge Aurier’s boot.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the Chelsea boss said: “A hard-won point, against a well-prepared team. They put us under pressure in the second half.”
“Our performance wasn’t good enough to get the three points. We didn’t move the ball fast enough.
“Pierre [Emerick Aubameyang] He had a good chance but it was unfair to take the three points.”
