Manchester United captain Harry Maguire on Friday sent a welcome message to Jack Butland, the club’s newest signing.
And Manchester United had announced earlier, on Friday morning, the contract with Butland from Crystal Palace, its rival in the English Premier League,
The 29-year-old English goalkeeper has joined the Red Devils on a six-month loan deal.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been keen to provide first choice goalkeeper David De Gea with backup after recalling Martin Dubravka from his loan from Newcastle United.
Butland has not featured for Crystal Palace this season but has joined Ten Hag’s goalkeeper group.
In a tweet on his Twitter account, Butland wrote after completing his move to Old Trafford: “Massive club. Huge opportunity. Can’t wait to get started.”
Responding to Butland’s tweet, Maguire welcomed the Man United goalkeeper as he replied: “Hi buddy (shake hands).”
