Jarrod Bowen scored twice in the first half to ensure the Toffees lost their sixth match in seven Premier League matches.
The result left Everton 19th in the table, ahead only of Southampton on goal difference.
Everton’s owner, Farhad Moshiri, watched the team’s loss at the London Stadium.
Lampard offered no public reassurances following the poor performance against his relegation rivals.
When asked about Lampard’s future, the Iranian replied: “I can’t comment – it’s not my decision.”
