This means that he will no longer be in charge in the Premier League.

It is understood that Mason resigned from his position by mutual consent, a week after he made a blunder in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford.

The VAR incorrectly allowed Ivan Toni’s goal to stand, having forgotten to check if Christian Norgaard was offside.

This angered Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta, because the mistake could prove costly in their race to beat Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Arsenal are now in second place after losing 3-1 to Manchester City on Wednesday.
