Premier League: Paul Scholes names a player who does not have the quality to stay at Manchester United

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes midfielder Wott Wieghorst is not at the level required to play for the Red Devils after their humiliating 7-0 Premier League defeat by Liverpool on Sunday.

Weghorst has only scored a goal in 14 appearances since joining Man United on loan in the January transfer window.

The Netherlands international started in the No. 10 against Liverpool over the weekend but struggled to make an impact before being substituted in the 58th minute.

“Weghorst is in the team to really be a defender,” Scholes told Premier League Productions.

“You talk about Manchester United’s number 10 or striker. He’s in the team to be defensive. He’s the guy to run and run and everyone loves to play with him because he does that.

“But also in terms of quality, you have to have a certain level of quality to play for Man United… It just isn’t there.”
