Chelsea manager Graham Potter said Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, suffered during his team’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday night.
Potter said he should replace Azpilicueta with Christian Pulisic in the second half.
Joe Willock’s second-half goal secured Newcastle’s victory over Chelsea at St James’ Park.
The result against the Magpies means Chelsea have now scored three consecutive defeats in all competitions for the first time since 2002.
Potter’s side are now eighth in the Premier League table ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.
“Today, once again, you see them [key players] Missing. Potter said in his post-match press conference.
“You are facing four of the teams in the best moments of the Premier League in terms of their version, and that could also challenge you. As much as we don’t accept it, we have to deal with it and try to move forward.”
He added: “It doesn’t make it easier. Losing Robben [Loftus-Cheek] When we did, the Azpi [Cesar Azpilicueta] He was also struggling a little bit, so we had to take him off at halftime.”
