Premier League: Ronaldo would be a ‘total disaster’ at Arsenal – Winterburn
Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn has warned the club against making a move in favor of Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Winterburn, the 37-year-old would be a “total disaster” for the Gunners.
Ronaldo is currently looking for a new club after canceling his contract with Manchester United in November.
He was associated with many clubs, especially the Saudi club Al-Nasr.
Arsenal could be in the market for a replacement for Gabriel Jesus, with the Brazilian facing up to three months on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.
But Winterburn urged Mikel Arteta to stay away from Ronaldo.
“It’s a no-brainer from me, and there’s only one simple reason; it would be a short-term hiatus.
“A lot of people would say that’s cool, let’s do it.
“I wouldn’t be able to argue with that, but I think the way Arsenal start games, they press hard, they’re full of energy, Ronaldo is an incredible player, but I don’t think he has the legs to be able to do that anymore.
“I think Arsenal have to change their style of play. The move would be a complete disaster,” Winterburn told Metro UK.
