Premier League: The FA supercharges Arsenal and Man City

The Football Association (FA) accused Arsenal and Manchester City of not being able to control their players during the two teams’ Premier League match on Wednesday.

Man City picked up three crucial points against Arsenal at the Emirates as the match ended 3-1 in favor of Citizens.

With this result, Pep Guardiola’s side moved into first place in the Premier League table on goal difference over second-placed Arsenal.

Although Mikel Arteta’s men still have a game in hand.

However, both teams were charged by the FA in multiple incidents during the encounter.

“Arsenal and Manchester City have been charged after their players surrounded a match official at various times during the Premier League match on Wednesday 15 February,” an FA spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.

Both clubs allegedly failed to ensure their players acted in an orderly manner, with Arsenal players surrounding the match official during the 56th minute and Manchester City doing so during the 42nd and 64th minutes.

Both clubs have until Tuesday 21 February to submit their responses.
