Premier League: Why Manchester City failed to beat Nottingham – Guardiola hit back as Arsenal lead
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola berated his players for wasting “too many clear chances” as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Premier League champions dropped two points at the Forest Ground in what turned out to be a thrilling title race.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for City, before Chris Wood scored a late equalizer.
The hosts needed Keylor Navas to thwart De Bruyne’s direct free-kick over the post, before Guardiola was punished for his frustration on the sidelines with a yellow card.
“We have to look at ourselves – we can do better. Today we miss a lot of obvious chances. Sometimes it happens,” Guardiola said.
“I was complaining to the fourth official and deservedly got a yellow card,” he added.
