Arsenal legend Paul Merson has stated that Chelsea’s new signing, Mykhailo Modric, has shown nothing since arriving at Stamford Bridge for €100m (£88.5m) in January.
Chelsea were said to have snatched the Ukrainian when it appeared he was on his way to Arsenal during the January transfer window.
After making an impressive cameo against Liverpool on his debut for the Blues, the 22-year-old has yet to register a goal or assist in five matches.
And Arsenal legend Merson believes the Ukrainian should be firing on all cylinders for the price Chelsea paid to bring him to London.
“They brought in Mykhailo Mudryk for £88m, and 20 minutes later, he didn’t show anything. I mean nothing,” he told Sky Sports.
“You wouldn’t expect to need time to settle in at this price.”
