The presidential candidate of the HDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his vice president, Ifenei Okwa, met on Thursday evening with former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Okwa, who is also the governor of Delta State, announced this in a post on his verified social media handles on Friday.
While sharing photos from the event, Okwa said the discussion with Jonathan centered on how to take back power from the ruling Progressive Congress party, APC, via the 2023 elections.
He wrote: “Last night, along with Presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, we had a wonderful meeting with our former President, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan. There, we discussed our plans for #RecoverNigeria with His Excellency.”
The Daily Post reported that there was speculation that Goodluck Jonathan had been asked to dialogue with aggrieved party members who had insisted that the national chairman of the PDP, Euresia Ayo, should resign.
