Presidency 2023: Enugu AAC empties Sooor and endorses Peter Obi
The Enugu state chapter of the African Action Congress, AAC, has dropped the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Omoyele Sowore.
The party made the announcement during a press conference in Enugu on Wednesday.
Addressing reporters, Kenny Ogbudu, the assembly’s presidential candidate in Enugu, said the party endorsed Peter Obi, the Labor Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election.
He claimed that Soor had shown himself to be an undemocratic person, doubling as a presidential candidate and party leader, thus blocking the chances of totalitarianism.
Ogbudu said, “Obi may not have the full answer but he can actually start healing the country’s wounds.
He is a man who changed the political landscape in Nigeria, dismantling the APC and the People’s Democratic Party.
“Members of Congress here in Enugu support Peter Obi rather than our presidential candidate, Sower who has no path to the presidency. We have given up on his ambition
“Soore is a one man band, he’s inexperienced, he has to stay active.”
He declared that they would do their best to campaign Obi in the few remaining hours.
“We are making sure that undecided voters will come out to support him.
“We have nothing to do with Ateku and we don’t support Tinubu.
“I’m still in the gubernatorial race, so we have nothing to do with LP in the state, but we support Peter Gregory Obi for president,” he stated.
