Renu Omukri, a former presidential aide and social media influencer, said that despite the sponsorship of Peter Obi of the Nigerian Christian Labor Party, he cannot gain the national exposure needed to win the just-concluded presidential election.
Omukri, who is a well-known supporter of Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), made the announcement via his official Twitter account on Sunday.
He reacted to the aftermath of the presidential election as the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Party the winner and returned as elected president.
“Despite jumping from church to church, Obi could not get the numbers nor the difference required to win. Even with three strong Muslims splitting the Muslim vote in the same ballot. Obi just demystified the Christian Caucus vote. Oya, insult me,” he tweeted. .
Omukri has been critical of politicians outside his own political party, the People’s Democratic Party.
