Pro-Biafra gunmen attack an oil ship, killing 2 near Cameroon

Suspected gunmen loyal to a group called the Biafra Nations League, BNL, have reportedly shot dead two oil ship escorts near Cameroonian waters.

Eyewitnesses stated that the accident occurred at around 4 am in the Idabatou district of the Bakassi Peninsula, an area controlled by Cameroon.

Witnesses said that the gunmen also attacked the ship, which was not moving, and its source was not confirmed.

“They tried to set the ship on fire,” another source revealed.

He said the gunmen fled before the Cameroonian forces arrived.

In a statement, BnL leader Princiwill Richards announced the halt of ships carrying oil at the eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea.

He warned that oil ships put their lives in danger.
